Niven Library online public access catalogue

The online public access catalogue (OPAC) includes records of all monographs, theses, honours & MSc projects, reprints, journals and newsletters in the Library. The Niven Library catalogue may at times be unavailable due to updating of the catalogue. The Niven Library has its own server - if this goes down during the weekend it will only be rebooted on a Monday. If you have any queries, comments or suggestions about the catalogue please contact the Librarian.

Succulent Karoo Ecosystem Programme (SKEP) online database

With the success of the Fynbos i-Forum online database, the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund approached the Niven Library with a view to providing further Internship funding in order to build a similar database for the Succulent Karoo Ecosystem Programme (SKEP). The online database has now been completed and includes the Karoo Bibliography 1759-2007 database generously made available by Prof Timm Hoffman from the Plant Conservation Unit (Botany Department, UCT).  The Karoo Bibliography 1759-2007 database is available as a downloadable Endnote file or Excel file on the PCU webpage.

Fynbos i-Forum online database

The Fynbos I-Forum is a component of the knowledge networking arm of the C.A.P.E. Programme. The compilation of the database was a collaboration between C.A.P.E. and the Percy FitzPatrick Institute at the University of Cape Town. The project involvied newly graduated librarians wishing to become specialists in the field of natural sciences.
