Phelisa Hans started working in the Niven Library in a contract post for NISC. She was responsible for copying the abstracts for articles to be entered into the Afrotropical Bird Database. Since 2007 Phelisa has been employed by the Fitztitute on a renewable contract basis to assist with routine tasks in the Niven Library, and with special projects under the guidance of the librarian. During 2008 she was principally involved in the various moves of the collection, packing up and labelling journals to move between storerooms and the library. During 2009 she assisted with the moving and integration of three collections into the library, after the installation of new shelving and compact storage. She has also worked extensively with the library's collection of duplicate books and journals preparing lists and populating a duplicate book catalogue.
