Conservation Biology Masters Students (2020/21)

Eliupendo Laltaika

Laltaika grew up in the northern part of Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania. His older brother was a ranger and rhino monitoring expert, so Laltaika spent his childhood interacting with forest scenes and wildlife sounds and smells. As nature was a big part of his life, this grew his passion and enthusiasm for working in conservation. He was appointed as one of the 2019 Youth Ambassadors to CoalitionWILD and has worked as a Biodiversity Technician at the College of African Wildlife Management-Mweka, Tanzania. He is also a former Wildlife Ranger in Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Laltaika has joined the University of Cape Town for the Masters programme in Conservation Biology and seeks to act as a voice for biodiversity and for the environment.
